Designed a values-based Arabic educational book for school students, covering branding, layout, and illustration.
Project Description
An engaging, educational book designed to teach identity and moral values to elementary and secondary school students. I was responsible for the full visual design of the book, including layout design, illustrations, and branding for the “همم عالية” program.
Long Description
همم عالية (Himam ’Aaliyah) is an educational program created by Hawiatey in 2021 to help shape the identity, values, and leadership mindset of school-aged children. It targets both elementary and secondary students, offering content grounded in Islamic values while using a modern, visually engaging format.
My role involved:
• Designing the program logo and visual identity
• Structuring creative page layouts for lessons, exercises, Quranic verses, and reflections
• Developing a youth-friendly visual language with illustrated characters and custom iconography
• Ensuring that the tone, typography, and composition were approachable for young Arabic readers
The book’s content flows across themed workshops (like “Self-Awareness”), designed to connect deeply with students while promoting reflection and action. The visual system reinforces the message of empowerment and identity-building, and the illustrations help make the material more relatable and accessible.
This was a milestone project for me in educational publishing and one I’m proud to have contributed to as part of Hawiatey’s mission to inspire and uplift future generations.
